After almost 4 months after the blackout of the Cumbre Vieja de la Palma volcano, Golf de Pals will be holding a charity tournament on Sunday 27 March to raise funds to help those families who lost everything during the 86 days the volcano was erupting.
The Royal Spanish Golf Federation (RFEG) with the collaboration of Autonomous Federations and golf clubs, have promoted a solidarity initiative called “Golf with La Palma” to help the families affected by the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano. Golf de Pals has been one of the Catalan golf courses that wanted to join this initiative.
On Sunday 27th March the tournament “El Golf de Pals con la Palma” will be held in stableford modality. During the tournament there will be refreshments offered by La Costa Beach & Golf Resort, who also wanted to join the initiative. Once the tournament is over, prizes will be awarded to the winners in the men’s and women’s categories according to handicap and the winner in the indistinct stratch category. The trophies for the winners are a contribution of the RFEG, a trophy designed in the shape of the island of La Palma. In addition, Golf de Pals will be holding a raffle among all participants to thank them for taking part in this charity event and will be raffling off hotel stays and green fees at all the Costa Brava courses and others, as well as golf equipment.
Golf de Pals will do everything possible to achieve maximum participation, although those who unfortunately cannot participate will still be able to make a donation via a link on the Golf de Pals website.
The Director of Operations of Golf de Pals says: Golf de Pals did not hesitate to join the RFEG’s call, organising a tournament to raise funds for the victims of the volcano, as well as the other members of the Costa Brava Golf Courses Association who wanted to participate in the initiative by offering green fees and stays in their hotels for the raffle.
